Graham Kerr The Galloping Gourmet

I remember getting the chicken pox in 2ND grade, I stayed home from school for an entire week! Normally this would excite any child who wanted to miss school, but chicken pox are not a great way to spend time away from the classroom! The only form of entertainment I had was television. I remember watching The Galloping Gourmet starring Graham Kerr. Not too many people are familiar with him, but he was one of the pioneer celebrity Chefs! He was a mix of Mr Bean, a vintage Emeril Lagasse (BAM) and a male version of Julia Child! I watched him everyday and even took notes as to what he was cooking that episode! I remember he would always bring an audience member to join him on stage to sample the dish he prepared! I really wanted to meet him and maybe even get a few cooking lessons! Watching his shows really inspired me to want to become a chef and one day have my own cooking show.
Soon after, I begin to pay close attention to my Grandmother in the kitchen, taking notes. I even started watching other cooking shows as often as possible. I searched for some online clips from his show, I found a few on Youtube and this one (below) captures his personality the best! It kind of reminds me of my first few months at culinary school!
